Written by AMU Correspondent

A fourteen years old student of Aligarh Muslim University City High School, named Danish Akhtar has been selected for academic trip to the United States under the US Embassy Access Programme. This Program is a high profile, public diplomacy initiative that contributes to education and mutual understanding with host countries. Danish may move to US in upcoming July-August 2009.

The English Access  Program of US Embassy makes powerful non-elite, 14-18 year old students with the opportunity to study English, grow an appreciation for American culture and democratic values, increase their ability to participate successfully in the socio-economic development of their countries, and improve their chances of participating in future U.S. exchange and study programs. This programme has been in progress since November 2007 under the auspices of the UGC Academic Staff College, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.

Professor A.R. Kidwai, Director, UGC Academic Staff College has complimented Danish on this accomplishment and expressed his hope that such academic exchange programmes will contribute to academic excellence on the AMU campus.
