workshop of “Human rights awareness and challanges ahead has been organised by Amnesty international india, Aligarh Mislim University unit at Women’s Politecnic, Aligarh Muslim University,Aligarh.Amnesty members were attracted each other and discussed the recent issue of the society.Dr Mohibul Haqu, Project Manager, while addressing members, sensitised on international, National and local himan rights issues and challenges. He highlited the dilemma of Richshow puller in Aligarh and asserted that they are always neglected by the administration at large. The richshow puller in Aligarh face many problems, no trafic rules, lack of parking space for them and the troubles they face from the passengers, police and other members of the society. He further directed to the AMU’s Students those are also members of Amnesty International india that students do not need to interfere in the affairs of local administration. Human right activism does not mean visiting police stations and interfereing in the work of district administration. Human right activism of student should include the work which are academic and intellectual in nature. Amnesty chapter must try to maintain peace and calm in the campus as well as in the city.Mr.Vijay Pratab an obsrever of this workshop, came from Delhi said that Amnesty Internatioan india must motivate local NGO and get them some logoes of it. In the society , we must reach at the root of any problem and then try to remove it. Mr. Vijay Pratab is also associated with South Asian Dialogue on Ecological Democracy, Lokayan,Network institute for Global Democratisation,Vasudhavia Kutumbakam,Prople Union for Civil Liberties,Last Person frist foundation,Socialist front, India and Aman Biradri.A committee consisting of team members was contituted with unanimous constent of all the members present for meeting and meet the authorities of the university including vice Chancellor of AMU, Prof PK Abdul Azis and Ragistrar to seek permition for establishing Permanent Amnesty International India Club At Aligarh Muslim University.An Anouncement was made for conducting a workshop of Right to Information Act and Human Rights by the end of this month at AMU Campus. |
