Jana Gana Mana…. Aligarh Muslim University, today celebrated nations’ 61^st Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. Nation flag was hoisted by the acting vice –chancellor at the Victoria gate of sir syed hall south, Aligarh Muslim University in the morning.

Eralier at the night of 14^th August there a great Mushaira, organized by department of Urdu, Aligarh Muslim university on the eve of Jashan-e-azadi. These efforts of Aligarh Muslim University are really appreciate able because university did it under the heavy rain. It has been raining in Aligarh since late night. It shows Aligarh Muslim university dedication towards the Independence Day celebration. 

There was another unforgettable moment when nation flag was being hoisted in AMU campus. Every student and staff was singing along with nation anthem when it was played, in standing position. It proved the respect of nation anthem.

This day was also marked with cultural activities, drills, flag hoisting and distribution of sweets at the university campus.
