Dr. Masarrat Ali, a native of Jhansi (UP) India, completed BS and MS at one of the most prestigious institution in India, the Aligarh Muslim University.He was a top-ranked student In the Masters program and awarded University Gold Medal.He researched the role of genes in liver cancer and fetal development for which he was awarded Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 1981 at Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow, India.
During Ph.D. program, Dr Ali excelled in research and set new research benchmarks by publishing more than 10 original research papers in the area of cancer gene regulation. Dr Ali was invited for a two-year post-doctoral program at the University of Paris, and then served as NIH fellow at the LSU Medical Center, New Orleans, in 1984.
He continued at LSU Medical Center as a faculty member until 1992.Dr Ali has more than 50 original research papers and book chapters.He has been invited to present his research work in many countries. Dr Ali established Alpha Diagnostic Intl (ADI) in San Antonio in 1993.ADI, a biotech company, is now a leading international company engaged in research in Human Genome and Proteomics.
A large number of its products are being used for antibody based diagnostic and therapy for such diseases as Obesity, Alzheimer, Cancer and Ageing. The National Republican Congressional Party chose Dr Ali as Honorary Chairman, Texas, 1993, for leadership in promoting Biotech business. ... The press release further states, "Dr Ali was selected based on outstanding leadership in business and for displaying a commitment to President Ronal Reagan's vision for an entrepreneurial America".
Ali has served as an honorary Chairman of the Business Advisory Council and has provided much needed support.This award could not have gone to a more deserving candidate.
And Above all Dr. Ali is a very good practising muslim he is always there for his muslim brothers and sisters. he is a remarkable fund raiser and MashaAllah donates a lot. Dr. Ali is one of the board of directors of MCECC (Muslim Children Education and Civic Center) in San Antonio TX USA. As the name implies the institution provides the Muslim children an excellent Islamic study and environment.
