"Prof.N.C.Saha is no more"

Marna  To  Hay   Usi  Ka  Jisko  Karay  Zamaana Yaad;
Yun To Aaiy Hain Duniya Mai Sabhi Marnay Kay Liyay.

The Shakespeare of Electrical Instrumentation, founder member of Engineering College, the longest ever Head of the Electrical Deptt., Dean Faculty of Engg., Principal of Engineering College, now College of Engg. and Technology, AMU Aligarh, the Sikender-e-Aazam of Electrical Intrumentation in the Northen India and above all, the most respected, beloved, dedicated and honestly sincere, towards his duty, subject, students, teachers and staff members and all in all,  "Champion of Champions "of teachers, late Prof.N.C.Saha is no more now.

I was shocked to learn about this sad and shocking demise of Saha Saheb Marhum.

He was Head of the Electrical Engg.Deptt. from 1950 to 1968.

He did his Ph.D.in Electrical Intrumentation from the Glassgow University,U.K.

In the Northern India, Electrical Instrumentation is known with the name of Prof.N.C.Saha.

He also introduced Dr.N.C.Saha Award.

He always worked sincerely, dedicatedly and honestly for the betterment of the Engg. College.

He waa, thus, respected by all the teachers,staff,students and emplyees too.

I had met him for the very first time in"Inchauli House, Dodh pur, AMUA", the house of my grand father, late Prof.Omar Ali Siddiqi(first Head of the Deptt. of Applied Sciences, Engg.College,AMUA).

He also had tought many of my relatives and the senior most included my Uncle Saeed Ahmad Siddiqi of Inchauli Meerut and Son-in law of late Mohammad Ali(elder brother of Omar Ali siddiqi Marhum and grand father of Perween Saeed, Shaheen saeed, tariqu saeed and Imran Saeed).

Later on my cousin sister, Perween Saeed, D/O Saeed Ahmad Siddiqi,joined Engg. College and that too in the Electrical Deptt.

Perween Saeed was the first muslim female student of Engg. College.Miss Pachhnanda was the first ever female student of Engg. College. But,incidentally, both these female students joined electrical deptt., because of the reputation of Engg deptt., developed under the unique and able guidance of Saha Saheb only.

Later on, my uncle, Munawwer Ali Siddiq,Prof.Khalid Omar Siddiqi(now in USA) and many others, had seen the era of Saha Saheb. But, when I joined the Engg.College, he had retired way back but I had met him many a times and he was very talkative, positive and encouraging personality.

A real Bangali Baba, he was fond of sweets but he was very deciplined man and a teacher also.

His students, round the world have become very high officers like, Mr.R.K.Narayan, former Chairman, Power Grid Corpn. of India, Malik Saheb former director NTPC, Keshav Saran, former Chairman(EIL)(these all were my supper Bosses in NTPC when I had joined NTPC as Assistant Engineer'Operation Services' in 1984) and many thousands icons of Engg.College, are more to quote now.

He was very popular because of his sweet nature.

A condolence meeting was held in his memory in the Deptt. of Electrical Engg. and Prof.Prabhat kumar(my teacher) had organised the condolence meeting while many students,teachers and employees attended the meeting.

They all praised to God to give the Sabr-e-Jameel to the bereaved family of Saha Marmum.
May God,rest his soul in the (Swarg -e - Awwal),'Paradise No.1), and give sabr-e- Jameel to all his family members,students and friends etc.

Ujalay Apni Yaadon Kay Hamaray Saath Rehnay Do;
Na Jaanay Kis Gali Maien Zindagi Ki  Shaam Hojaay.
By; Prof.Bashir Bader(Alig)

And in his  mother tongue,Bangali Bhashha, I can only say,now; "AAMEE TUMA KAY BHAALO BAASHI" means " I LOVE YOU".

Khuda hafiz and Fih amaan Allah.
Ur's Duago,
Er.Ahmad Rais Siddiqi(Alig)
