The Vice Chancellor Professor P K Abdul Azis submitted a detailed development plan to the Minister. He submitted a proposal for restoring and protecting "Heritage Buildings" of the University and for which 100 crore grant is sought.

On the other hand, Aligarh Muslim University intends to construct two new hostels for students and it urged the Ministry of Human Resources to provide a grant of 48 crores", Professor P K Abdul Azis, Vice Chancellor has already met with Mr. Arjun Singh, Minister for Human Resource Development and other senior officials of the Ministry in Delhi on this matter.
