Some Members of Executive Council, Aligarh Muslim University, are not satisfied with the Security plan made by the Vice- Chancellor P K Abdul Azis.
Recently, with a view to upgrade the security system at the Aligarh Muslim University, an Advertisement of a tender was published in newspapers. In this tender, University demand 433 Security Personnel, including 37 gunmen,30 CCTVs,50 walkie-talkies, metal detectors, an x-ray scanner and smoke detectors etc.
But Executive Council of Aligarh Muslim University has different thought of the security matter. A letter was written by Executive Council, Aligarh Muslim University to its Vice- Chancellor P K Abdul Azis, saying that “this tender looks better for the HIGH-SECURITY DEFENCE ESTABLISHMENT but when it’s come to an EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION, it is being over. For University this exercise is illegal and without any lawful authority.
Wasim Ahmad, Member, Executive Council, demanded to create a new post of Security Advisor, he further said that he will raise his question in coming Executive Council meeting on 21 June.
