Aligarh Muslim Univesity, A Step ahead with a world to create the awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action, Aligarh Muslim University has decided to celebrate World Environment Day-2008 on 5 June along with the help of National Service Scheme (NSS),Unit of Aligarh Muslim University. The World Environment Day slogan for 2008 is Kick the Habit! Towards a Low Carbon Economy. And we are adding “Our Campus, Green Campus” with it. This programme will highlight resources and initiatives that promote low carbon economies and life-styles, such as improved energy efficiency, alternative energy sources, forest conservation and eco-friendly consumption. According to Dr. Shadab Khurshid (Prog. Coordinator,NSS), on the eve of World Environmental Day, we will have some lectures from experts and seminars at 8.30 AM at the NSS Office,Aligarh Muslim University,Aligarh. To cerate the interest, NSS will also organize Painting and Poster Making Competition. Vice Chancellor Prof. P K Abdul Azis shall preside over the function and Chief Medical Officer Dr. C P Gupta shall share his opinion. |
