Reading is the best way to enrich your mind and acquire knowledge. Although books are nonliving but posses the unique quality to make you some time laugh and cry. Many students read few hours in a day and scores very excellent, on the contrary your bookworm friend hardly manages to get passing marks. It all depends HOW YOU READ YOUR READING STUFFS.

Concentration is the key, which largely makes a difference. Lack of concentration is the major problem in the area of reading. One can overcome it by practicing. First of all find out the possible causes, which are acting as the barrier to slow dawn your pace of reading. It may be bad light in your study room, lots of book on your table, noises of children, or something else. Your reading area should be free of all extra stuffs. Make sure that your reading room having a pin drops silence. Do not think about the numerical problems of   physics when you have your biology book on the table.

If your reading speeds is less than normal set a short amount time daily for practice. Have your reading material from your textbook ready, fix time (10 to 15 min) and start reading. Make a conscious effort and ignore every thing except your text you are reading. When the timer goes off stop reading. Now test your self by recalling what you have just read. Check back to the text and see how much information you actually remembered. If you recalled 60% of the reading material then a little more effort will make things pretty good. And if it is less than 50% you need Herculean task.

You do this practice a complete month; will see that you have improved a lot. Even after this practice, if the things are not going well it simply means that you are not familiar with the words, which has used in the text. You need to increase your vocabulary. Keep a handy dictionary with you. Copy the words from the text and know the origin of that word, and try to use it indifferent possible sentences.

Remember like every thing else this is also worth doing. Never forget that only practice make you perfect. Forget all the things when you read. Remember the moment you spent with someone special to you. Do you engage yourself with so many things when you talk to her/him? No, you never do that. So if you do the same thing with your study you will fall in love with your books, and you will find that your books have more beauty then your possible spouse.
