Prof.Bashir Bader(Alig); I am extremely shocked and pained to inform you all that one of our most beloved and Darling of all Mohammad Mushtaq Ahmad Khan “Khillu” is no more.
He last breathed in Holy Family,New Delhi,just one minute before,as informed to me on my cell no. +91 9868390783,by his close friend Syed Mudassir Ali Naqvi’s wife,Dr.Talat Naqvi.
Mudassir is elder brother of my wife Anjum Naqvi,so I have just talked to my class friend Akbar Rashid Siddiqi who is also in the Holy Family right now and has confirmed me on my cell.
I was just sitting on my computer and writing some article ,when this very sad and shocking news came to me.
Khillu had just called me on my cell day before yesterday only to inform the media to give a news of postponing the scheduled meeting of the AMU Old Boys’ Association from27.04.08 Sunday to 10th of May 2008.
That meeting was postponed on a very short notice as Khillu had severe heart pain and was unable to conduct that meeting as he was the Hony.Joint Secreatry of AMU Old Boys’ Associtation.
Nawab Kokab Hameed Khan of Baghpat is the Secretary of this Associtaion.
I had never thought in my wildest of dreams that it would be my last talk with him.
He used the words for me were like this;Aby Chhalu Ahmad Tu Mera Kaam Karna Nahien Chhahta Hai bas Tu To aaraam Kar Raha haiy”?
I was actually,taking as rest on my rest day Saturday,but,I immediately tried my best to inform some dailies for the change as it was an “order of my Darling Pahalwaan Khillu”;
As most of you must be knowing that Khillu was was the President of AMU Student’s Union and was very instrumental in fighting out the cause of retaining the Minority Character of AMUA and was jailed all along with other leading Union leaders like Arif Mohd.Khan etc.
Later on he was elected Jt Secretary of AMU Old Boys’ Association was continuously active in the matters of AMU.
In his earlier days at AMU he was very well know as Khillu Pahalwaan because he was a famous wrestler of AMU Gymnasium club and won many tittles in and outside Aligarh.
He became UP Champion also.
He therefore,always used to call every one with stron but true words.
He always called “A Spade a Sapde” and thus was known as a “Saaf Go”, person.
He never believed in doing buttering for anybody but never hesitated in pointing out any one for his mistakes and thus some people used to fear himself for his candid,true,free and frank words.
It is also an irony that the first person who cared for my marriage and brought the proposal of my my marriage alongwith our common fiend Nawaab Majid Hassan “Munnu” for my wife ‘Anjum”.
So,you can now understand my feeling about his death just now.
I have lost avery sincere,dedicated,helpful and loving brother brother cum friend.
May Allah Rest his soul in Jannath ul Firdause and give Sabre jameel to to the bereaved family of Khillu marhum.
I request all aligs and others who read this mail to pray for his maghfarat.
