Dr Shah Alam, [Lecturer, Dept of Psychology, Women’s College, AMU and Principal Investigator, UGC Major Research Project on 'Schooling Process', and Coordinator, PG Diploma in Guidance and Counseling, Centre for Distance Education (CDE), AMU, Aligarh] has been nominated for the prestigious S. Deb Memorial Medal of Calcutta University (the oldest university of India) on 'Criminology and Criminal Law' for the Best Book/Paper/Article written and published during the last 5 years.

Among the previous recipients of the award are Justice Anand, the ex chief Justice of India and Mr N. Vittal, the ex Chief Vigilance Commissioner of India .

This honoured research paper, “Influence of Occupational Stress on Adjustment: A Study of Police Personnel”, has been published by Dr Shah Alam in the Indian Police Journal, 2007, pp.50-61.
