Few people of AMU wish to propose that in order to pay a befitting tribute to Qurratul Ain Haider (died 2007), the great fiction writer of Urdu, one of the residential hostels/Halls should be named after her.
I would like to endorse that proposal with a humble request to all that this should be done sooner, rather than later. Preferably, the hostel/Hall under construction [near the Rail Phatak on way to the new building of the Faculty of Law] should be named after Qurratul Ain Haider.
The Jamia Millia Islamia took an initiative and got a "chair" in her name immediately after her death, we the AMU-ites are yet to have a "chair" even in the name of our founder Syed Ahmad (1817-98). may I hope, this proposal will find a wider endorsement?
