Hall/hostel be named after Qurratul Ain Haider in AMU Print E-mail

Few people of AMU wish to propose that in order to pay a befitting tribute to Qurratul Ain Haider (died 2007), the great fiction writer of Urdu, one of the residential hostels/Halls should be named after her.

I would like to endorse that proposal with a humble request to all that this should be done sooner, rather than later. Preferably, the hostel/Hall under construction [near the Rail Phatak on way to the new building of the Faculty of Law] should be named after Qurratul Ain Haider.

The Jamia Millia Islamia took an initiative and got a "chair" in her name immediately after her death, we the AMU-ites are yet to have a "chair" even in the name of our founder Syed Ahmad (1817-98).
may I hope, this proposal will find a wider endorsement?

Regards,
M. Sajjad

Dear Aligs,
This is a very very good idea and we need to build a momentum for this.

There are many names who needs to be honored by naming a Hall/Hostel after them, like Syed Mahmood, the architect of MAO College, Maulvi Samiullah, Haji Ismail Khan of Datawali, Maulvi Chiragh Ali, Theodore Beck, Sir Thomas Walker Arnold and so many others.
