Unanimous resolution passed by the Executive Committee of the (Aligarh Muslim University) AMU Teachers’ Association at its meeting held on June 25, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the Staff Club.
This meeting expresses its concern over the construction of a grade separator at Rani Jhansi Road from Filmistan to St. Stephen Hospital by MCD in Delhi to facilitate the construction of an apartment and a Mall, which necessitates the acquisition of some properties including ‘Masjid Haji Fakhruddin Wali’ by the Delhi Government. The promise to shift the site of the mosque would be against the principles of Islam. The compensation being promised by the Delhi Government would not compensate the irreparable loss to the sentiments and faith of Muslims.
This meeting urges the Prime Minister to intervene in the matter and prevent the demolition of the said mosque.
