The mercury rises more than 45 degree in Northern India and of course in AMU campus as well but it can’t stop the students to take a glimpse of their new vice chancellor Prof.P.K Abdul Aziz, a former vice chancellor of Coachin university.
 
Yesterday, he and his family arrived in Aligarh and as per tradition he was received by the members of AMUSU at Ghanta Ghar, the Clock Tower. Then he escorted by the students on bike with members of AMUSU, District Administration and Proctorial Team. Though proctorial team received him at Sut Mil Chungi. He reached Jama Masjid at 1:40 pm where acting Vice Chancellor, his officials and hundred of students were waiting to take a first glimpse of the new VC. Here he visited the Mazar of the founder of this alma-mater and offered a Chadar and flowers and recited Fateha.
 
Then he escorted to Strechey Hall and a photo session was conducted for about 20 minutes though there was a unbearable heat. From here he went to VC lodge where teachers ,student and other officials were waiting for a heart full welcome of the new VC. From his new residence he addressed the AMU community and thanked for such a warm welcome from AMU community which he was not anticipating in a boiling heat. He stressed on the cooperation of every member of AMU community to make this prestigious university more prosperous in his tenure.
 
Today new VC officially took the charge of AMU.
