We do not know about Kerala trip, but a lot have already contacted the new VC and assured their role in his selection. Ek Saheb told us very recently Mr.M.A.A. Fatmi hosted a party for the new VC and few full buses and a lot of cars went to Delhi to meet the incoming VC.

But,recently, I had gone to my home town Aligargh where I was born & brought up and thought to just say "hello" to the new VC and I got an appointment with him and took his interview for some dailies/magazines,web magazines etc and that has also been published in an international daily.
I found him quite enthusiastic at least at the moment he has some great dreams for AMU.
Let us see what happens in due course.
Please do not take it otherwise?
I just wanted to see the new VC of our University where we studied and did so many activities(harkatain bahut katien hain wahaanpar hum ne).A I right now? didn't u do so?

As far as Kerala is concerned, I think ,after the appointment of new VC at AMU, the door to Kerala and South India for Aligs would be open and remain so. Its good, AMU is spreading her wings in India.

Assalamo Alaikum,

I was very happy when I got admission in 10+2 in 1984 at AMU as it was the last admission session of Syed Hamed Sb as VC, and I also had no words of my happiness when I was allotted the room at the time of Admission without any trouble in Allama Iqbal, which was constructed specially for 10+2 students and it was our first batch of students allotted in Allama Iqball Hall.

More importantly, I remember one wonderful incident of Allama Iqbal Hall. The story follows as:

When light had gone in the night, we all juniors(as there were totally juniors in AI Hall) usually started to shout loudly with special comments for Seniors of MM& RM Halls. One night, we all juniors started to shout with lovly comments in regard of our seniors of MM& RM Halls, as they were facing our comments since many months and were thinking how to punish us and there was no any fear for us from our seniors as being only juniors in Allama Iqbal Hall, when Syed Hamed Sb. left the university and Mr. Mohd. Shafi Sb.(Geography department for 6months as acting VC) before Syed Hashem Sb., took over the charge as acting VC, one night light had gone for a long time and we started comments on our seniors of MMA Hostel of MM Hall as usual, the seniors of both halls with hockey sticks in their hands moved in groups towards our hall, as it was preplanned from MM& RM Hall seniors side to punish us as they were looking for a suitable time to punish us. Suddenly I saw from my windows which were opened towards the MMA Hostel(MM Hall) that group of seniors are coming towards us with hockey sticks, I shouted loudly in my Block gallery, which is very close to MMA Hostel pls. shut down doors of your rooms seniors are coming with hocky to beat us, as I closed my room's door, suddenly I heared the voice of hocky sticks and seniors on my door, they were crying open your door, we will tell you a lesson now, but I did not open my door. As mostly juniors who had not close their rooms were caught by seniors and they were punished till mid-night but seniors did not beat any junior only they performed their old tradition for introduction without harming any junior.

Finally, after 10+1 exam mostly juniors were transferred in SS Hall, Aftab Hall and VM Hall where we were welcomed by our most seniors on every Saturday till mid night because we were transeferred from Allama Iqbal Hall.

Haider Aqeel - Kerala Reservation

Dear Friends
It was really a wonderful experience. I also remeber one such incident happened with us for the reservation of kerala express. It was in way back in 1993. This time we couldn't find EK SAHAB as we were short of time. I am sure if we had time, we would have found EK SAHAB easily as aligarians are experts in finding them in any corner of the world.

Unfortunately we had to travel in local compartment from New Delhi to Thiruvanantapuram. Let me tell you that we were 24 guys going there to play the Natioinal Roller Skating Championship there. Almost all the teams from north India boarded the same train. All the other teams were thinking that AMU roller Skating team is travelling in AC as they were unable to find us during the journey. Here I must say that EK SAHAB must have told the same to these teams.

I got admission in engineering college in 2001 and i was alotted Nadeem Tarin Hall..i was always afraid of giving intro as AMU tradition to introduce urself in very unique way to ur senior...luckily i know one guy (medical student) from Hadi hasan hall..to escape intro i used to stay wid him on saturday....one saturday night he was not in his room infact he was not in aligarh and i forgot to ask for his room key...so i decided to go to common room of Hadi Hasan hall and spent night watching movie....common room was closed at mid night and the i had no place to go...immediately i decided to sleep in Hall mosque that night....i was about to sleep when i was attacked by a group big masquitoes...my whole body started itching and i became restless...and made up my mind to go aligarh station and spent rest of the night there...reached station and could find a place to sleep...passed whole night sitting on the chair and fighting masquitoes....and decided not to run away from the hall to escape intro....seniors are better than masquitoes...they will not suck my blood...and if i know then it would be great help in coming years.
