The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University ( AMU ) Prof. M Saleemuddin do deserve applauds for the way he has dealt with the crisis in recent past. Some major challenges before him at the time when he took the charge as Vice-Chancellor were to form the panel for the new Vice-Chancellor, the conducting of entrance tests on time and the internal examinations, though with some interruption is being smoothly held.

He also sensitively dealt the situation that erupted by the murder of Kausar. Amidst all this the Vice-Chancellor must not forget that holding the meeting of Academic Council is still left. It must be noted that AC was one of the bone of contention between the Vice-Chancellor and the student’s Union.

The AC has to decide the fate of some of the students who claim that University Administration (Naseem Ahmad and his team) had done injustice with them by not allowing them to appear in the examinations. From reliable sources it has been told that the Vice-Chancellor before giving the charge to the new Vice-Chancellor wants to hold the meeting.

He is regularly consulting with the members and other administrative functionaries regarding it though nothing had been officially declared. It will be another major achievement of the Vice-Chancellor if he holds the meeting and is able to do justice to the students.
