The heat of the UP Assembly Election was also felt in the campus. Since morning with the beginning of the counting of votes students were seen enthusiastic about the next Chief Minister of the state. And the early trends which were later confirmed about the Mayawati’s BSP coming to power received a mix response in the campus.Mosy people were astonished by the clear majority which Mayawati recieved.

The debate about the Mayawati’s concern for the Muslims in particular and Nation at large remained the topic of discussion everywhere. But the one thing that came to with relief for everyone in the Campus was the under-performance of the BJP. The Aligarh Assembly seat went to Samajwadi Party’s candidate Zameerullah.
