May 01-97 : CBI Inquiry - A possible fix of many issues Print E-mail
Written by Sharique Shahnawaz

The students protesting against the dual murder in the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) campus called off the Dharna after the assurance of Hon’ble Home Minister Sri Shivraj Patil regarding setting up a CBI inquiry into the killings and the related circumstances and conspiracies.

Today the members of AMUSU met the minister and apprised him with the whole situation. This had been the major demand of the students. In the evening  a candle-light condolence march from Maulana Azad Library to the University Circle was taken out in which hundreds of students and staffs took part.

Its good to know that situation is now becoming normal and more importantly examination started again.

If CBI inquiry is s solution then there is no harm in that.

Inshallah AMU administration will soon settled down all issues..

I hope with the assurance of CBI inquiry,it will calm down the burning situation. People were making their own assumptions, providing evidence, using rough language and demanding for CBI inquiry. Though CBI inquiry will expose few things to outer world but it can expose few root causes for long time.

Dear Everybody, & actualized alumni's,

Let's set aside everything, I agree that my outrage got reflected in the language i had used to express the state of affaire at the University. It happens, and i don't feel a need to be apologetic about it.

Trust me my friends, this university is decaying day in and day out. Can all of us get a bit realistic, and acknowledge this. We have got in a habit of sugar coated talks, but it is nothing but hygiene, which gives us a good feeling. If these host's of unofficial alumni network working at the mercy of Yahoo Inc is meant for a purpose, then it makes sense having it.

If all of you feel that this forum is nothing but a electronic extension of endless discussions at SUFI ka DHABA, or a CAFE de LAILA, then lets be upfront and accept it as the basic objective of an e group. The problem is that we portray to be philanthropist's but act as if it's just a joint for leisure, as rightly mentioned by a fellow member.

The situation in the university has calmed down, which is a good news indeed. The VC has put forward the demand of all of us for a CBI probe, which needs to be forwarded to the home ministry via the Mulayam Singh Govt. of UP.

CAN ALL OF US DEMAND FROM THE UP GOVT TO FORWARD THE RECENT INCIDENT TO BE PROBED BY CBI.

I believe we can have consensus on this point. Remember my words; this is going to be a one time surgery to the entire problem at AMU. Once real accused are exposed, and thrown aside, then this sort out a major problem.

These are the same set of people who stays in the campus for till they age up 58. Its the same set of people who creates the trouble for any IAS, or a Academician VC for which I see the glut of e groups are exchanging mail. My take is that let any one come as VC I am not bothered, but if these few set of problem makers are there in the campus, then your best choice of VC can't survive.

The only hope I see is in the CBI probe.

So let's take the demand of CBI probe to a logical end.

Trust my friends I don't have anything personal with anybody on this group.

Kabiruddin - Professor, Chemistry Departmen Unregistered | May-02-07
The crisis in AMU repeatedly occurs in a harmonic way, every times there is chance for the chair. This also happens when some wrong person happen to sit on the administrative chair. For example, I spent my three years of Chairmanship sucessfully, but these days the chemistry Depatrtment is in crisis. Similarly we can think of the whole university. Let us invite a debate on the cause of crisis and ugly and painful situation in this Alma Mater....Kabiruddin

This is absurd to say that Kabiruddin's tenure as chairman was a successful one.His tenure was a total failure. He brought department to such a pass where teachers of the department are a divided lot.present chairperson is trying to retrieve the situation upto certain wxtent and the former chairman does not want her to do that.He is playing every trick in the book so that she is not able to improve the things. He interferes in every matter and tries that chaos should continue.he has played with the careers of the teachers of the department and downgraded it upto the extent that it is a herculean task for the present chairman to uplift the department to its past glory. It looks funny that the former chairman says that crisis build up due to wrong person occupying the chair a very disgraceful comment indeed.
