Ministry of HRD Govt. of India is seriously thinking of stopping all allocated funds to AMU and demote it to a state university unless it becomes open to all communities and maintain certain academic and administrative standards of central universities like JNU and DU.
All the people who have been appointed at different academic and administrative positions should be having certain qualities and academic standards, like a person who has been appointed as Prof. should be having some standard publications in international journals. The academic excellence of all faculty members should be checked at the end of every academic year, and if his/her academic performance is not up to the mark, his/her all increments should be stopped immediately, until he/she maintains the same.
All faculty members should be having at least two national and one international publications as per the norm applied to IIT faculties. All students who can not do well in first semester should be given warning to improve and if he/she is not growing up to a mark he/she should be terminated. There should a rigorous PHD entrance examination and a rigorous course work up to one year to maintain the standards of quality research. Only students having NET/UGC/CSIR should be given admission in PhD or should be given fellowships. All PhD students should give monthly presentations in front of all the concerned department (students? faculty) to show his/her nature of research.
All research scholars should attend national and international seminars/conferences present papers and also try to publish papers in national and international journals.
Ministry of HRD Govt. of India is ready to help such students financially.
