University Literary Club today organized the screening of the paintings of Jane Smith Bernhardt in Kennedy Auditorium.
Ms Jane ,an American, runs an NGO, "The Hibakusha Peace Project". In her paintings she portrayed the sufferings and the aftermaths of the Atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Moved by the warmth of Aligarh she said, "To be here in Aligarh and at the University has been a deep honor and joy for me. I am in India for the first time, and I feel the deep spiritual power in the heart of her people. Here at the University, I appreciate the sincerity and hard work of so many students wishing to make a contribution to the world. Here in the land of my hero, Gandhi, I feel empowered to continue to dedicate my life to the highest goals of peace. We are all one family".
