To mark the 150th Anniversary of the First War of Independence the Sahitya Prashid organized “1857 ki Virast”in the Department of Hindi. Dr. Attia Abidi, the chief guest of the function in her address said that the Revolt was against the political enslavement of the people but much dangerous than this is the psychological enslavement that we Indians are going through.

She said that the coming generation has to realize this and work to come out of this. Many Research scholars and students participated in the program. They presented various papers regarding the Revolt of 1857. Sartaj Alam presented his heart touching poem “ kya hum zinda hai”. While Md. Ausaf in his paper made an insight in the folklores of the time.
