The tempo of the Cricket World Cup fell drastically even before it had gained any momentum in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Campus. Yesterday was an important day for the cricket lovers but the underperformance of the National team greatly disappointed the supporters. India’s defeat against Bangladesh not only disappointed the supporters but also proved the great cricket pundits all around the world wrong.
India is among the top three favorites and this result could only be attributed to the unpredictable nature of the game. Pakistan’s loss and its almost ouster in the very first round of the tournament had further added to the disinterest. Indo-Pak clash in a world cup had always been an important event in the Sub-Continent but the cricket lovers might not witness the mega event this year. Another four long year wait to catch the action. |
