To mark the fourth anniversary of America’s invasion in Iraq the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)  Film Club today organized the screening of “The Lion of Desert”, popularly known as Omar Mukhtar after its protagonist in the Kennedy Auditorium.

The film is based on the Libya’s struggle for freedom against Italian imperialism. The film aptly suited the occasion, as the American invasion of Iraq is widely believed to be an imperialistic endeavor no matter what arguments the invaders gave. But Iraq has still to wait for her Omar Mukhtar and how long no one knows.
