The crisis in Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) does not seem to calm down. Today again the students boycotted the classes. They have been demanding that the Emergency Services should be started in the College.
It is to be noted that a month ago Vice Chancellor had assured of starting the services in a month but that has not come true. The students argued that without emergency services their clinical training could not be completed. The teachers also seem to support the students. But the Administration has its own reasons for not starting the services.
Principal Saud Ali Khan said that due to the lack of basic facilities such as availability of specialists’ teachers, paramedical staffs and other technical facilities it could not be started in such short period. Moreover, he said that Unani or any other ancient medical practices cannot apt to deal the cases of emergency. The cases of emergency need most modern facilities. |
