A lecture by Justice Rajinder Sachar on law and society was organized at Assembly Hall, Z.H College of Engineering and Technology.

The lecture had a special significance as Justice Sachar had headed the Committee formed by Prime Minister to find the socio-economic condition of the Muslims in India. The Report submitted by the Committee had initiated a debate especially among the Muslim intellengisia. The ball was set rolling by Prof. S.N.Zeba, the coordinator of the lecture. She introduced the speaker to the audiences. Justice Sachar in his speech said that laws are for the welfare of the society and any such law, which make discrimination among the citizens should be wiped off.

In his presidential address Vice Chancellor, Naseem Ahmad said that we should realize our responsibility in choosing our representatives so that they raise our concerns. The lecture was followed by an interactive session.
