With the arrest of Shahzad and his aides and the assurance from SSP, Aligarh, the matter seems to settle down in the Campus. The rage and anger of the students, which took a violent shape on Saturday slowly calmed down. The SSP who was away, on his returned met students and assured that no one found guilty would be spared and no case would be charged against the students. He said that if needed NSA would be charged against the culprits. He also informed that a complaint against SHO, Civil Lines has been sent to Election Commissioner U.P so that necessary action could be taken against him as it was in his presence that Shahzad opened fire. It is to be noted that Assembly Elections in U.P has been announced and only EC could take any action against any official. The arm licenses of Shahzad and his aides are also cancelled.

Shahzad who is a local builder had in recent times became a nuisance not only for the students but also for the people living around and so when the students were settling scores with him the mohallawalas seemed to be on students side extending their help.
