Executives of AMUSU yesterday met Mr. Arjun Singh, Cabinet Minister for HRD,  in New Delhi. In hour long meeting they appraised the minister with the problems of the student community. Later in Aligarh , Nafees Ahmad, President AMUSU talking to media persons said that during their talk the issues regarding the welfare of the students were discussed .He said that he brought into limelight  the problems faced by the students specially the research  scholars.

He said that as health of the students is a major concern , they have requested the Minister to increase the grant for the same. On being asked that did Minister assure of anything, Nafees Ahmad replied that the Minister has promised to visit Aligarh in mid December and during his visit it is expected that he will make such announcements.It is to be noted that the Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh are due early next year. The political parties have started gearing up for it and Mr. Arjun Singh`s proposed visit to Aligarh is seen in this perspective.
