AMU : Leader to maintain harmony between Shias and Sunnis Print E-mail
Written by Dr Mohsin Raza (Con Gen Surgeon)

Dear Friends Assalamoalaikum

AMU Campus is an excellent example  where the Sunnis  and Shias live in perfect harmony.
I know of 2 holy  mosques the Mecca and Medina mosques where the Sunnis and Shias  pray together at the same time in the same  rows.
The AMU Jama masjid is  an example where the Sunnis pray and then Shias  go in to pray Juma  ,popularly knows as  1st show and 2nd show.
In condemning the Hussain's  killing in Iraq on the day of Eid ,the meeting has been addressed  both by Sunnis and Shias. Thanks to the MLA Mr Bansal also, who is the son of the symbol of Culture and Hindu Muslim Unity at Aligarh ,the  late Bhayyaji .

We must reject and  denounce all those  Institutions ,parties and individuals who try to disrupt the Sunni/ Shia relationship.
After  the King  of Iran was ousted, The Rabta e Islami meeting held in Mecca Intercon in march 1979, appointed  Molana Yusuf Siidiqi, the then Ameer of Jamaat e Islami Hind, as their envoy  to greet  Ayatullah Khomeini on the success of Islamic Revolution and express support from the Islamic organisations.

Molana  Saheb  met Ayatullah Khomeini at his residence in Qom,on our personal request Molana saheb  discussed with Ayatullah Khomeini the subject of Sunni/Shia differences. In response .Ayatullah Khomeini had given his  handwritten note in persian.translated as; "The differences between Beradraane Sunni wa Shias are the result of International conspiracy against Muslims,,,,"
(signed  and stamped Ayatullah Roohullah  Mosavi Khomeini)
I am a personal witness to it as I was  General Surgical Specialist there  during the Iranian  revolution;
I understand that Molana Siddiqi Saheb had published it in the Radiance English weekly  and Dawat  Urdu daily news papers.A similar note was given to Molana Saheb by Ayatullah Shareyat Madari in Arabic, a day earlier in the holy city of Qom.

I wish our brothers of both sects take lessons from the Ayatullah Khomeinis advise to muslims of the world.
The Sunnis and Shias in general and their leaders of Iraq are bringing shame to the entire Muslim Community of the world.
Let AMU Campus  be the Leader to maintain harmony between Shias and Sunnis

Mr. Khomeini's observations were genuine at that time and applicable today also. The whole drama by US is to create and widen the drift between the two sects and use both of them for their political and economical gains. It is shame for a country which is rich by all natural resources but try to capture the resources of others. This fact should be known by everyone and be aware of such politics that is done under the slogan democracy and freedom.

Nice to know about condemning the Hussain's killing by Sunnis, Shias and MLA Mr Bansal.

The Shia-Sunni harmony which exists in AMU should be spread to all over the country and world.

obviously, ayatullah khomeini's inferences after what had happenned down the ages with we moslems is admirable, though the shi'i and sunni ideologies appear to be two, they are yet one,for they believe in monotheism, and are believers anyways,my advice to flagbearers of both the schools of thought would be to maintain harmony in every condition,be it anything, because ultimately,we are from allah, and shall go back to almighty someday, his religion knows nothing but peace and brotherhood,so spread the real message by keeping the faith amongst themselves,so that we may be kept away from hellfire,on the judgement day,may allah bless everyone, ameen.

Of course Juma prayers were prayed in two shifts in AMU and I think the tradition contues till date. Unfortunately, the majority of our friends belonged to a third shift ( I hope you got it).

Yes, both Sunnies and Shias always lived like brothers in AMU although they used to call each other by funny names (the formr called the later "KhaTmal" and in rataliation the leter called the former "Machchar" (ha ha ha ha ha).

Joking apart, Shia-Sunni hamonry is the only answer to Iraq problem and the only way to defaet the enimies of Islam. Hats of to Dr. Mohsin Raza for his wondeful article.

Both Shia & Sunni are follower of islam, If we sort out the plotical difference which is created by islam enemy - DIVIDE & RULE Policy.
United we STAND & divided we FALL.
Together we can & we will make the difference.
To start making things better both shia & sunni should come close to each as Islamic brother.

As expected only 4 people have responded to my email
A fixed agenda is followed by the interested parties, what is required by the majority of educated folk is to foil all such attempts of creating a divide and influence the uneducated to follow the same
Javed Saheb has said interesting Khatmal machar example, there was and may be still one more example that'Yaar yeh na Hyon mein hay na Shyon mein"....I was occasionally greeted like this

The differences between shias and sunnis are not religious but political in nature. Let politics not divide muslims. All muslims & other citizens of India should come together to fight the common enemies which are illiteracy, poverty, corruption, communalism & crime. Let us work together to give a better futute to our coming generations. Good luck.

Masha Allah ,perhaps only Masjid In India where we are together offering Namaza ,otherwise we are always ready to take life of each other.Sir Allama Iqbal rightly said"Yun to Nabi bhi eik,Quran bhi eik .kya bari baat hoti ,hote jo Musllman bhi eik.

AMU ho ya other university, tum sab studies par dhayan do. religion ko studies mein mat ghisito. jahiloon ki tarah baatein mat karo. religio alag hai aur studies alag hai. Mujhe to samajh mein nahi atta hai ke amu mein bacche padhne jaate hain ya bakwas karne jateen hain.
Duniya kahan se kahan chali gayee aur amu abhi tak religion ko le kar lar raha hai. itna waqt kaise milta hai faltu bakwas karne ka. mera to man hi nahi karta hai itna backward university mein padhne ka.
