AMU witnessed the serious snatching problem in the campus. Last night 5 such incidents took place at different places and the mode of its operation was very much similar to one another. These incidents happened between 8.00 PM to 11.45 PM.

The first incident took place at the gate of SS Hall (North), near the newly constructed shade for cycle and scooter stand. It was Mahtab Khan, a research scholar who lost his mobile. Second victim was Asghar Ali, a B.Sc. (Hons) student who faced the same fate in front of Noor Masjid. Third incident took place behind Arts Faculty which is notorious for such incidents and another incident happened near Medical Colony. However the most serious was the case of an Old Boy, Mr. Md. Fahimuddin. He is lecturer in College of Information Technology, Greater Noida and he was on a short sojourn to meet his friend in Aligarh. When he was going to visit his friend, he met the fate near Nadeem Tareen Hall. He was robbed at gun point and his mobile and cash was grabbed.
 
Few days back Café de Phoos was targeted. Such snatching incidents are rising in the campus and it needs immediate action and precautions.
