Professor A.R. Kidwai, Director, UGC Academic Staff College and Professor, Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University delivered Keynote Address on "New Perspectives in Non-Native Literatures in English" at the National Conference organized under the aegis of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad. The Conference aimed at exploring the latest trends in the discourse on representation, politics of literature, Muslim writings in English, multiculturalism and cultural affinities. Its main objective was to identify and discuss new areas of research in English literature. In his keynote address, Professor Kidwai outlined the main contours of literary orientalism and the recontextualization between modernity and Islam by some Muslim writers. Professor Amina Kishore, Head Department of English, MANUU was the convener of the conference. A large number distinguished scholars and students of English studies attended the conference.
