“What gives the western scholars the edge over the Asian Scholars is their “Sincerity of Purpose”, said Prof. A.R. Kidwai, Director, Academic Staff College, Aligarh Muslim University. Prof. Kidwai exhorted that the dedication and commitment is the key to a researchers’ success. This dedication is required at all levels from the non-teaching staff to the Vice Chancellor. Prof. Kidwai urged the researchers to take writing as a hobby. Prof. Kidwai was addressing the inaugural session of the Workshop on “Research Methods and Research Paper Writing” organized by the Department of Business Administration, AMU. The week long Workshop is organized for the research scholars of Departments of Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Psychology and Agricultural Economics & Business Management. Dr. Parvaiz Talib, Chairman, Department of Business Administration said that Ph.D is just the beginning of the journey of research and not the end. It involves studying a problem in a scientific manner. The Department of Business Administration hopes to conduct similar workshops in future too for the benefit of the budding researchers in Aligarh Muslim University. Earlier Dr. M. Naved Khan, Coordinator, Workshop welcomed and introduced the participants to the issues related to identifying and defining research problems, developing research design, sampling fundamentals, developing questionnaire, questionnaire refinement, hypothesis testing and how to write a Research Paper etc. Mr. Asif Akhtar proposed vote of thanks and Ms. Rizwana Khatoon conducted the programme. More than 40 research scholars of Departments of Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Psychology and Agricultural Economics are participating in the week long Workshop.
