Former Chairman, Modern Indian Languages, AMU and renowned writer, folk-lyrist, poet & critic Dr. T. B. Chakraborty has been awarded prestigious “ MUNSHI GOLAM MUSTAFA MEMORIAL LITERARY AWARD-2009’ . The said award has been bestowed upon Dr. T. B. Chakraborty is recognition of his literary contribution spanning over twenty years. Dr. T. B. Chakraborty has authored 15 Books including one on the life and works of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in Bengali. His 40 research papers and research articles have been published in national and international journals.

 The award is instituted by Munshi Gulam Mustafa Sanskriti Sansad and Purbavas Sahatiya Sansad, West Bengal which carries a medal, memento, citation with a shawl. It is being given every year in recognition of the contribution to Bengali Literature. Earlier Dr. T. B. Chakraborty was conferred life membership of NAZRUL ACADEMY, West Bengal in recognition of his research and work on poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
