VC's answer Print E-mail
Written by AMU Correspondent
It is correct that no violence has taken place on the AMU campus during the Dharna, but we have serious fear that some outside elements would set off the students, thus posing a vital danger to peace this is why we have to resort to such an extreme step of ordering closure of the university. And more over talks with the students has not worked out well   :   Prof. P K Abdul Azis, Vice- chancellor, AMU, Aligarh

Mohd Reyaaz Khan - VC should consider inside elem Unregistered | Oct-31-09
As an old boy I am not agree that VC or any administration resign !!!! NO WAY.

and why they resign? Every matter should be resolved by dialogue, The demands of the students must be in order to get the culprit and provide justice to victim NOT to harm university.

I am sure there are so many inside elements too who always turn everything to VC resignation and property demage. This is too much, every year these so called handful insider/outside create mess, they must be cleaned and kicked out from university campus.

I request to all please extend your support to VC and administration and begin the dialogue among VC, Admin and students.
Absar khan - Supression of students Unregistered | Oct-31-09
Dharna like situation after murder of student outside university was created due to lack of communication with students at a critical juncture . One year supression of students by fine and irregular raids in hostels, with university collecting 6.3 lakhs from students compared to 1.7 lakhs as fine in last session, and students were suspended from hostels. Responsible for the situation are proctorial team, and teachers electing persons of past record of financial iregularities and plagiarism in CUSAT as their V.C.

Students were protesting peacefully, why there was FIR against students ???,
Why did,nt your admistration communicated with students after the murder of students ?? When you closed the doors of communication with students then they resorted to rail jam and dharna ?? Till 4 days agitation is peaceful then, why such extreme steps it proves your admistrative ineffectiveness. In past when there was loss of property and life then only V.Cs resorted to such extreme step.

If your security apparatus cannot prevent the outsiders to create problems for you, simple they are worthless, Why such an extreme precaution indefinite closure, it clearly indicates your admistrative weakness.

mohd shariq,aligarh - why sine die? Unregistered | Nov-01-09
why sine die? if u go in to this question we should atleast think about why students is on dharna? ...late shahnawaz was the student of AMU our dua is with his family..but on the other hand tell me what is the role of amu vc and anministration in his murder...when i talked to number of studentd in the campus every body support the steps taken by the amu administration and condemn the death of our colleague.few students like puppets in te hands of some people or teaching staff who dislikes vc and his team using the shoulders of students..aligarians know very well those gurus in the campus....but i salute the STUDENTS they understand the situation of the campus and in just 3-4 hours the marched toward their home without any hue and cry.

This was the right decision in favor of innocent students keeping in mind of last incidents, in which property of crores(vc- lodge) were looted, arson by group of outsiders ,bad elements and the fine was imposed on all the innocents students, and few were resticated those who were not present in aligarh at the time of incidence

I appeal to Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor please come forward for the welfare of the students and the survival of AMU not for your vested interest. You should give importance to the interest of the students above your personal interest, Otherwise you should resign.

i believe that everything could be resolved by talk.but i am very surprised the none of administrators-be it the V.C. or the proctors communicated with the students, never shared their grieves and problems.i m sorry to inform all of you that when the students went for hunger strike not a single medical assistant came for check up for 3 days. for 27 months students were deprived of their fundamental rights.none could voice their problems effectively.moreover the interference of district administration in our matters was also not welcome by the students.

1st of all I would like to appreciate the effort taken by our VC for the development of AMU .
Why AMU student went on dharna when there was a killing of student outside campus(after 10 pm),more ever he was not a hostler.UP govn is responsible for it ,not our VC.Students should protest against UP govn.
We alumni knows well that these are the illegal student who were promoting the dharna for no reason and teaching staff who is against VC is 200% involved in it.
In the end I would like to say few world to our VC sir that these are the hurdles which are coming in your path coz you are doing welfare for muslim community same as sir syed faced in his time. You should not fear with these people. One day will come when peple will remember your.We as a alumi are with you and above all ALLLAH will help you as you are on the path of welfare of this community.
Alumni-Hasan - VC has done graet work in last Unregistered | Nov-03-09
If you analyse the last two years of present VC tenure you will find there are numerous work done by our VC..
1.World Alumni Summit
2.Ejected out 1800 illegals
3.180cr of aid for developments in AMU
4.5 AMU centres approval & 50Cr fot it
5.Onlie form availablity.
6.Internet facility in every faculty & every hall
7.Library modernisation.
8.improvement in AMU rank in research work(presently 8th all India).
9.Upgradation of Medical college to AIIMS & 150 Cr for it.
10.Upgradation of engineering college to IIT level(under process)
11.Sense of security in campus as there was some insecurity among students before coz numbers of illegal were living in hostels.
12.All India center for entrance exam.....
and so many works.......

Even after doing so much for this university ,few students are demending his resignation ,Its very shameful for us.
He is the person who has carried real legacy of sir Syed by establishing 5 centre of learning of AMU,a real aligarh Movement..
You compare his work and previous VC works and find the difference in his deed and in others deed

@ alumni Why AMU student went on dharna when there was a killing of student outside campus(after 10 pm),more ever he was not a hostler.UP govn is responsible for it ,not our VC.Students should protest against UP govn.
We alumni knows well that these are the illegal student who were promoting the dharna for no reason and teaching staff who is against VC is 200% involved in it.
this shows the total ignorance about the happenings in te university and the whole protest movement. first of all i agree that the student was an nrsc but you know what he was punished with nrsc tag as he "dared" to ask for good food in the V.M. Hall hence the proctor and dsw made him pay.
secondly the teachers did not had any role in the present agitation had that been the case why would the students sitting on dharna/hunger strike curse them day in and day out for acting as sycophants ofv the Vc.
as far as the development work being carried out by the Vc the lesser said is the better as except for one or two inconsequential things his regime has been a thorough failure let me list his achievements:
1)giving a lunatic like muzaffar siddiqui a free hand to terrorise the students by inventing methods like cutting off elctricity plug points at all the rooms of the hostel, looting the students by making each and every spot at the university a paid parking(eg. library, medical college, arts and social science faculty etc)
2)making Mohd. Zubair Khan as the DSW who has appointed not one but two of his son in laws as teacher in the department of mathematics as a testimony to his credentials.
3)Entering into the girls room without even the mimimum courtesy of knocking at the gate and then going on to check their closet shamelessly.
4)Passing a resolution in the academic council which gives a relaxation of 5% marks to SC's and ST's in admission criteria
5)totally ignoring the issue of the minority character od the university
6)Raising the price oif admission forms exhorbitantly so as to put it out of the reach of average muslim student who comes from a lower middle class background
shahnawaz - shanu Unregistered | Nov-04-09
7)appointing such people as Prof. Mohd Shabbir and Dr.Shakeel samdani on key posts depite the fact that both of them are notorious for harassing students and bearing a grudge against them for raisning their voice. It would be noteworthy to recall that both of them have many enquiries against them in the Women's cell of the University for sexually harassing female students.
8)buying luxurious furniture worth over 80 lakh Rs for the vc lodge from his relative's shop at calicut in kerala
9)Paying his income tax from the univerity funds ad later while admitting this gross act of misconduct trying to justify it as a sort of "loan" from the university
10)Strangling the culture of discussion, debate in the university and thereby practically silencing the students of the university from raising any legitimate issue by threat of suspension rustication from the university
11)Promoting nepotism and pscophancy at all levels in the university by rewarding each and every person who is close to thye vc withy key posts irrespective of their incompetency
12)Bearing a grudge against students and treating most of them as criminals,anti-social elements instead of treating them with love and trying to understand their problems

If the Congress govt, and especially Kapil Sibal led Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) thinks that mismanagement and bungling of Crores of rupees by people at high places like the VC of AMU Prof Azis and his team are too insignificant, they should clearly come out with their policy. They need to advertise in national newspapers that in case any govt employee has bungled upto a certain amount, say 100 Crores, they shall not be punished, of course provided they come clean and accept their guilt. There should be total tax exemption on this amount too! Otherwise the govt should not punish poor small time babus who are routinely shown being caught in TV sting operations taking bribes of a few thousand rupees and then being unnecessarily harassed and suspended!

What a shame that a Univerity that was created by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan who was given the title "Sir" by British is in shamble. How dare the students had so much courage to show this attitude towards their teachers (from whom they are getting) knowledge. It is better to shut the University and start with fresh and more sincere and carefully screened students who are interested in education and not politics.

Sir,

For the time I have spent in AMU ,believe me I have been in such a touch with erstwhile VC Janab Naseem Ahmad Sb. that he never thought us all as student and sons of others. It is very regrettable that I have never felt the same from you sir.Now I am an Officer in Rajasthan but I never forgot to write down the sayings of VC Naseem Sir.Despite he had been many times mistreated by the students but he never gone out of the campus and took shelter with some body else and formulating the rules and asking fro Sine-die.VC means VC ,he remains no longer an ordinary man and the VC of Other University, he has to shoulder up on the heavy load.SO sir, considering me as one of your son's and at the end please visit to the student not with your cavalcade but personally and see the response of the students in our AMU, they will surely embrace you like a father.
