Prof. Tarik Mansoor elected President of Association of Surgeons on India(U P Chapter) |

Prof. Tariq Mansoor, Department of Surgery, JN Medical College, AMU has been elected President of Association of Surgeons of India (UP Chapter). This is the first time that a surgeon from J N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University has been elected to the prestigious post. The election to the President’s position of Association of Surgeons of India (UP Chapter) was held through postal ballot. Prof. Tariq Mansoor won the seat by getting 160 votes while Prof. R. B. Singh of King George Medical College, Lucknow and Dr. Sudhir Pandey, Chief Medical Superintendent of Balram Hospital trailed behind by securing 90 and 34 votes respectively. The term of the office of Prof. Tariq Mansoor is two years. Prof. Mansoor will preside and organize the activities of UP Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India and will also preside over the state conferences scheduled to be held at Lucknow in 2010 and Kanpur in 2011.
