Meeting of the Academic Council Print E-mail

Meeting of the Academic Council of the Aligarh Muslim University has resolved to institute 124 teaching positions covering the faculty of Arts, Social Science, Science, Engineering and Technology, Medicine, Unani Medicine, Institute of Persian Studies and Prof. K. A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies. The Academic Council also approved specializations and qualification of each post of Professor, Reader and Lecturer.

The meeting was presided over by the AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis. All 32 items were passed in an amicable atmosphere.

The Academic Council has changed the name of ‘Ahmadi School for the Blind’ as ‘Ahmadi School for Visually Challenged’.

The meeting of the Academic Council also approved the amendments in Ordinance (Executive) for the establishment of the Directorate of School Education, the Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools maintained by the Aligarh Muslim University.

To consider the request of certain ex-research scholars for permission to submit PhD. theses as ex-student beyond the prescribed time, the Academic Council extended one year as a very special case.

The Academic Council also approved the proposal for the relaxation in attendance of the NCC students.

The Academic Council has resolved for relaxation of 5% (i.e. from 55% to 50%) of marks at Master’s level and 5% relaxation at graduate level under the term of ‘Good Academic Record’ at par with SC/ST and physically and visually challenged candidates for appointment on teaching and non-teaching positions at the level of Assistant Registrar.
