In my opinion the best way to support student to give them intellectual ideas and share your experiences so that they cannot face the same problem which we have faced.
Let them know the current information so they can build there career in the right path.
Every institute has this feature and AMU also has this. Lets make it more organized so that our younger brother can take max advantage of it.
If any one has any other approach share it.

Great topic Basil Bhai, I personally think that the best way to support the students of AMU is as you wrote share the experiences with them, there had been many attempts in the past, e.g. the Orientation and Mentorship program that was initiated by many groups who are committed and concerned about AMU on more or less the same lines.
The failures of these programs can be attributed to hitting a wall (in our case, though we accept full responsibility of the failures and accumulated a lot of learning in the process), current students not showing any interest in the programs (Happened in the case of Mohib, Faiz, Sharaf, Javed, Sabat, Tarique, Akbar, Nadir etc who worked on similar lines) and diminishing interest of the people who had started these programs due to factors well known.

The greatest problem lies in the fact that AMU administration has neither recognized nor accepted the need of a powerful and collaborative alumni in shaping the future and has never been forthcoming in contacting them for any kind of support, though I have personally interacted with many alumni who are ready to walk the extra mile.
In short AMU alumni has no or limited say, although I must admit that I may be wrong in this observation and I can be corrected any time.

Behzad Sb. I think you are right. But for every problem there should be any solution. So if the process which our brothers have adopted in past, did not work then we need to take some other path. What you think?
The link you have provided is an excellent resource to startup the brainstorming. It seem like communication gap was the main hurdle in your program.
So if you have any idea or anyone has any idea how to overcome these kind of hurdles lets brainstorm it and come with a good solid process.
Inshaallah we will succeed.

assalam-o-alaikum brothers,
i must congratulate merachaman.com team for a taking remarkable initative in the form of providing the whole AMU community a common platform of discussion.
As fas as support is concerned, I think we need to sensetise the community first, perhaps this is the only front where an aligarian lacks and believe me if pushed against the wall, there is nothing that an aligarian cant do.
I am sure a student will get full support if asked for, the need of the hour for them is to come out of that 'hitch' which is usually found in almost every student.
I may sound critical, but this is true and we aligarians need to improve on this aspect.
Basil bhai and team, carry on with this noblw work and i am sure people at large will be gteatly benifited with this activity of yours.

If you are a student then I am sure student community need alot of support, morally, financially, guidance, job assistance etc etc.
Be positive and try to see the outside world.

this is the main problem of AMU & its students that they ca not think/see beyound horizon. they have got a tendency to restrict themselves within, and comment by my brother above reflects this thinking.
Please guys, this is my appeal to try to increase your reach & learn from your senior's experiences to avoide those mistakes which we have done and have suffered a lot in life.
please improve horisons and try to realise that aligarh is just a tiny part of the world and NOT the wholw world.

In my opinion there are following ways to support to A.M.U students
1.Healthy environment of studies free from drug,crime,regionalism,and fear.
2 Career awarness among the students.i have found that most of the students want to join either medical or engineering .They are not aware about the latest career opportunity for example,chartered accountancy,modelling,music industry,film industry,banking,sports,company secretary,financial anlaysist ,operation management,etc. To aware the students there should be organising of career launching Fair where students get information about what they can do after which class.
3.Scholarship to needy students
4.language training centre to the students particularly english.
5.prefence in teaching job to the topper of the faculty as i have found from last 20 years the average candidate got the job that led the decline of standard teaching in the university.
6.Ban on the private teaching of the teachers and promoting the concept of mutual help among the students in study.
7 to promote the research students,general students there should be start of best paper prize award,oraginsing university mathmematics olympiad,science olympiad and engineering olympiad.
8.close interaction between university alumini and the a.m.u students.
9 selection of well qualified leader of student union.The person who wasted his yaers what he will save the years of the students.The selection of the leader on merit and qualification.from many years the student union became a launching pad for the leader to join a political party by inviting the leader of particular ideology.
10.A close relationship between administartion and the parents of the students.The parenst of the students must be informed by the university administartion regarding his study progress by sending his result and yearly activities .By this way we can save the students from spoiling their career.i have found that the failure students do not report to their parents and start to invovle himself in distruptive actiies round the year.Previously our senior used to have an eye as guardian now no authority doing that.
11.Examination must be on time and question paper must be external so the policy of patronizing can be ended and guess of the students should be eliminated for complete studies .
12 Ban on the external elements in entry in campus and hostel.
13 . strict control on selling of drug in neighbouring of halla and university campus.
I hope that the following above mentioned poits will help in the better development of the students.
