The Hidden Truths of the AMU Crises and Appeal to the Conscience Keepers - 2007/04/10 01:02 Dear All & members of Save AMU campaign,

The Hidden Truths of the AMU Crises and Appeal to the Conscience Keepers
As reported on this Group-site by somebody, few days back, the AMU was/is ominously under flux. Certain vested interests (whose presence in AMU is perennial) were already entering into, somewhat unexpected re-alignments, to mount enough pressures on the outgoing VC, Naseem Ahmad; and also on the decision making bodies like the EC and the Court. The design is to get their men empanelled as next VC. The present crises and killing of an innocent, unaware student is the outcome of this tussle over the empanelment. SHAME!
Among few other Groups/lobbies, one group consists of Hafiz Ilyas (Reader in Psychology) backed by Fatmi, the union minister. They pull their political strings through Nafees Ansari (Reader in Pol. Sc and ex member of the EC) and Abdus Salam (Reader in Econnomics, and aspirant of Secretary, AMUTA), a self styled champion of the so called Bihari interest in AMU. Nafees Ansari and Abdus Salam have convened several meetings on their residences and elsewhere, speaking about Biharis’ shares in the power structures of the AMU. These meetings have been followed by their successful conspiracy in getting Syed Shahabuddin (former Diplomat and MP from Bihar) defeated by Zafaryab Jilani (a ‘Muslim’ leader from UP. A glaring proof, of their concern for Biharis, in AMU. This contest was for membership in the EC through Court. They celebrated this victory at the residence of Khursheed Tuiyan, subsequently Fatmi also attended another celebration alongwith the above mentioned people and their eternal associates like Razaullah Khan (Engg.) and Jamshed Siddiqi (Computer Science, and member EC). Razaullah Khan and Tariq Mansur (JNMCH) are not hesitant about revealing their intention to be empanelled as the next VC.
These sharks have already negotiated an alliance with Profs. Qaiyum, Rahimullah, Irfan (all from Physics) and Nayeem (Unani Medicine and President AMUTA). The so called Azamgarhi lobby. They had put tremendous pressure on the outgoing VC to put Rizwan (IPS and Kanpur range IGP, hailing from the Eastern UP) and/or Jannat Husain (Andhra cadre IAS, hailing from Eastern UP) on the top of the panel of the next VC. The VC, Naseem Ahmad not only refused it, he even scolded these people in a meeting.
Let it be known that the VC had already distributed favours to all these people.
For example: Prof. Rahimullah was made MIC-Purchase Committee. He earned so much kick-back in this position that, he has invested his hefty capital and has become the only supplier of the Air Conditioniners in the AMU. His academic credentials (if any) are known to everybody. Qaiyum was promoted to Professorship despite having only one publication in a journal brought out from a local town of UP.
Prof. Akhlaq (F/o Law), another outrageously incompetent man was promoted to Professorship and was made Proctor, who sold away a costly piece of land, an enquiry was instituted under his friend Prof. Muzaffar Siddiqi (F/O Engg.), who is yet to submit his report. This dangerous idiot shifted his loyalty away from the VC, as he wanted to ensure that only his saviour could be empanelled as the next VC, so that his corruption could be shielded.
Mohsin Khan, is aspiring to become the Controller of Exams and Admissions to make money in the forthcoming MBBS/B.Tech entrance tests. A notoriously incompetent person, was promoted to Professorship in the D/O Commerce, and was made MIC-AMU
Gas Service. He received hefty kickback by allowing the Dealer (Tariq Gandhi) to sell the cooking gas through black-marketting, creating a big scarcity of cooking gas and putting the bonafide consumers (AMU employees) in great crises. This Tariq Gandhi had obtained this dubious dealership by paying lakhs of rupees to the successive Registrars (HAS Jafri, Nazim Jafri etc.).
As Mohsin Khan failed to actualise this objective, he also turned against the VC. Sibghatullah Faruqi (of Commerce, another notoriously incompetent and corrupt man also got professorship and Provostship, without which he can’t live a moment) also joined the camp. All these men, ever since the departure (1994) of MN Faruqi, have not been able to extract enough favours (in admissions and recruitments and contracts for canteen, computer supplies etc). So, they have become absolutely desperate to bring a docile and pliable man (like MN Faruqi, 1990-94) as the new VC.
The desertion of these fellows made the VC naseeem Ahmad utterly helpless, left AMU on 6th April 2007, faxed his resignation on 7th evening and on 7th-8th April the killing took place. This kind of disturbance was already in making. Gun firings had taken place on 6th April, near Mumtaz Hostel. The VC had already lost his moral authority to administer as he was rumoured to have earned enough money (as kick-back in constructions, through Prof. Mittal, MIC, Building Deptt.) and purchased an extremely costly housing flat in Gurgaon, where he has been parceling truckloads of articles for the last six months.
The abovementioned sharks were already trying to mobilize a section of Bihari students, in the name of their victimization. But it was not gaining momentum because of the fact that this VC was not supposed to have discriminated against Bihari candidates in the recruitments, notwithstanding his alleged involvement in corruption. They, therefore, manufactured an issue of victimization., excavated the candidature of Minhaj, and asked the VC to award him the degree of B.Tech.(Minhaj, a close relative of Fatmi, was admitted through VC’s nomination in 1990s, by MN Faruqi and since then he has not been able to pass out). It is this Bihari-Azamgarhi (if it could be appropriate to identify them like this) lobby, who is/are behind the recent crises leading to killing of an innocent student by the goons hired by this lobby through the AMUSU’s President, Nafees Ahmad of Azamgarh. The armed goons had come in the four wheelers. No hostel student has a four wheeler vehicle. To further accentuate the crisis, some of the students from Bihar have already been handed over to the police, so that Bihari students are provoked to go on unprecedented rampage and violence.
Question paper settings in exams (like Maths in IX, X) were done, going beyond the syllabi, all intended to provoke the students to paralyse the administration. This is an old tactic applied most often in AMU, by such carnivorous sharks.
All these sinister designs are geared to prepare a public opinion in favour of an administrator VC, who would be politically subservient. And Nazim Jafri is smiling at all these crises, as he hopes to become the Registar once again.
SOLUTION The Prime Minister should be requested and pressurized to institute a high power enquiry into the whole episode (of pressure on VC, student upsurge, killing of an innocent student etc. etc), so that, these sharks are exposed and penalized. Only then, this dirty politicking, regular phenomena in AMU, can be stopped.

Re:The Hidden Truths of the AMU Crises and Appeal to the Conscience Keepers - 2007/04/16 23:54 Seems an attendance issue.

I think only Dean or Chairman can help you on this issue. Sometime by simply going by rule and keeping all the other factors aside might hampers even genuine cases. At the same time they avoid to give a pass so that other couldn't make an issue or try to take advantage. If you are among the toppers then your teacher should definitely support you based on the evidences. With the help of your teachers you should approach you Chairman/Dean. Hope it should work for you.

Good Luck.

Re:The Hidden Truths of the AMU Crises and Appeal to the Conscience Keepers - 2007/04/17 17:58 Dean, Chairman and DSW and registrar should have the authorities to help you out. Approaching union is not a bad idea as your intentions and academic records are good. However I think they might use your case to get permission for others also. The way things are happening in the campus anyway they can do anything therefore there is no harm to approach them.

If your chairman had assured you, he should be able to help you. It is just the matter of meting him. Now a days due to cell phone and internet etc everyone is approachable. You should contact him through email and phone as soon as possible and meet him without any fear and hesitation. Try to CC your communication to dean also and you should provide your complete detail for the reference purpose while contacting. We don't know who Mr Singh is, in which department and for which exam you are talking about etc.

You can also talk to exam incharge in your department to allow you to take exam by providing temporary roll number. If you are approved at any point even after the examination, your exam can be counted.
There is no harm in asking. If you don't ask you don't get it.
