Young Scientists Award Programme : 2007-2008
To encourage Young Scientists, The Indian Science Congress Association has introduced a number of awards in different disciplines in January 1981 From last year these a wards carry a sum of Rs 25.000/-besidesa Certificate of merit There are 14 awards, one to be given in each Section

Applications are invited from members (Life a Ordinary) of The Association who had paid their subscription on or before May 31,2007. The upper age limit of the candidates for the award is 32 years as reckoned on December 31 2006 (only those Corn on or after January 1,1975 are eligible)

Four copies of full paper along with four copies of The abstract [not exceeding 100 words) shall have to reach the office of the Genera/Secretary (Hqrs ) not later than May 31, 2007 At the top of each copy of the paper and its abstract, the name of the Section where the paper is to be presented should be indicated The Sections are (Agriculture and Forestry Sciences (2} Animal Veterinary and Fishery Sciences (3) Anthropological and Behavioural Sciences (including Archaeology and Psychology a Educational Sciences) (4) Chemical Sciences (5) Earth System Sciences |G) Engineering Sciences (7) Environmental Silences(8) Information and Communication Sciences Technology (including Computer Sconces) (9) Materials Science (10) Mathematical Sciences (including Statistics] (11) Medical Sciences (including Physiology (12)New Biology (including Biochemistry. Biophysics and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology! (13) Physical Sciences and (14) Plant Sciences

Four copies of the bio-data of the candidate including full name and address (with Phone Fax and E-mail) along with the date of birth (duly supported by an attested copy of The certificate), research experience, list of publications along with reprints of papers and membership number etc should be appended to the full paper

Work should have been earned out in India and this has to be certified by the Head of The Institution from where the candidate is applying

The candidate should give an undertaking that the work which is being submitted has not been presented many other Conference / Seminar /Symposium for consideration of any award

In case of a paper by more than one authors [he candidate (young scientist; has to be acknowledged by the other author(s) un terms of a certificate; as having made the major contribution A Young Scientist could present only one paper m any one Section (and not a second paper with the same or related work in any other Section!

Full paper will are assessed for their content and at the most six Young Scientists in each section will be invited to make oral presentation of their papers m October at Vjshakhapatnam. The selected scientists will be provided admissible traveling and daily allowances by the ISCA

The final selection for the Awards will be done by a duly constituted committee and the awards will be given at 95tn Indian Science Congress to be herd at Visakhapatnam from January 3-7, 2008

The last date for receiving papers is 31st May, 2007
