AMU : Order to vacate Hostels within 48 hours

The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis has appealed to the students to vacate their hostels within 48 hours from the issue of this notice and leave for their hometown. The University has made arrangement of 100 special buses for various destinations of adjacent districts and two special bogies in all the trains passing through Aligarh to eastern UP, West Bengal and towards Delhi for the students. The provosts of residential halls have also been directed to provide the fare to the students if needed. The University administration is taking the help of district administration to bring the situation to normal in the University campus and to cause least inconvenience both the University students and the general public.

 

 
AMU close down

The Aligarh Muslim University and all its maintained institutions have been closed till further order with immediate effect. The detail of re-opening of the University will be announced shortly.

AMU : FIR against Students

Students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have been booked namely Khurram, Ibrahim, Faizan, Tamzil, Fahim, Irfan Khan, Abdulla, Iftikar & Fahad under section 147 & 148, 342, 323, 504 & 506, 353, 336 of the Indian Penal Code for rioting, manhandling government officials and damaging public property during their violent protests against the murder of a varsity student.

100 anonymous persons have also been charged to scare anybody.


The case against students and nearly was registered Tuesday night at the Civil Lines Police station.

 

 
AMU : Hunger Strike

If the Vice-Chancellor, Proctor & DSW would not resign in 24 hours, 3 AMU Students  shall resort to hunger strike.

Three students namely Md Faizan Khan of Master of Agricultural Economics & Business Management( Final Year), Mohd Ibrahim of B.A( Final) Political Science & Syed Mukarram Ali BA (1st Year) Economics has decided to take the last democratic step of resorting to hunger strike till death at the Dharna site of Bab-e-Syed Gate.

 
AMU now setup high level Committee

Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University has set up a high level committee comprising all the Deans of the faculties to address various issues brought to the notice of during the massive interaction exercise undertaken by the University with the students of the University.

The Committee will examine the genuine difficulties faced by the students both at the Department of Studies and Halls of Residence. The Committee will submit its detailed report to the University within one month time. Prof. Zubair Khan, DSW will be the convener.

Interactive meetings with the students were held in each faculty and Hall of residence today in the presence of Deans and Provosts. Later at 12:00 noon the Vice Chancellor Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis himself interacted with hundreds of grievance committee members in which a slew of problems faced by the students in Halls of residence were freely aired.

The Committee will examine all the grievances and submit its report within one month to the University for consideration and necessary action.
