Aligarh Muslim University Teachers Association’s secretary resigned from their post, here. Dr Adus Salam was having a responsibility of Secretary of AMUTA, Aligarh but due to some family problems, Salam stepped down him self from their duty.

An open letter to the

Members, Executive Council (AMU)

Academic Rejuvenation of AMU is a much talked agenda these days. But the piecemeal manner in which the objective is sought to be accomplished is hardly convincing. Rather, they are provocative in nature.

Most of the members are endorsing [or advocating for] the idea of placing lecturers in senior scale through Selection Committee, rather than through Screening Committee. Quite often it is suicidal to disagree with POWER/Feudal Lords, more so in AMU. Yet, I am raising my first question:

why does EC need to revise this particular rule of the 5^th pay which is just about to expire. [Some of these members got their own promotion under the screening process]. The UGC and AMU ordinances are explicit about the criteria: Lecturers of 4 years of service if with Ph D, [or 5 years if M. Phil, or 6 years, if only M.A and UGC-JRF/NET] and an Orientation Course [besides Orientation those without Ph D should have done Subject Refresher Course as well] will be placed in senior scale. It is, therefore, absolutely futile to spend public money on the allowances of the experts of selection committees, besides inordinate delay in the placement.

No doubt Diwali is a festival of lights, peace, harmony and poetry. Our people are engaged in celebrating it with their family and friends. Who cares for those are living far away from the main stream of sour society due to their physical or mental disabilities? A seminar on “ causes and treatment of Osteoporosis” has been organised by department of Kulliya, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya college,Aligarh Muslim University,Aligarh. Dr M Khalid Department of Radio Diagnosis, Jawarlal nehru medical college,AMU, Aligarh preside over this semnar and deliverd a lacture over increasment of Osteoporosis patients in India.

This time contribution of Aligarh Muslim University inleading a life of dignity and honour and contribution to nation building through administration of justic has been proved by the success of its two stuednt in Uttrakhand PCS (J).

Proud of Azamgarh Distt. Mr. Nusral Khan and Fame of Aligarh Mr. rohit agarwal secured 1st and 2nd position respictivelt in recently announced results of PCS judicial servies examnination of Uttrakhand State.
