The Muslim Social Uplift Society has invited applications for Merit-Cum-Means Scholarships 2008-09.This Scholarship is to be awarded by the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Associations of Australia, California and Washington DC . Some other Scholarships like Sultan Jahan Begum, Dr. S.M Raza & others, Dr E.R Ansari, Begum Khalida Naheed and MSUS are also included by this society under the same scholarship.

The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has tied up with the Washington University Law School and the Johns Hopkins University to offer several academic programmes to its students, university officials said Saturday.

Aligarh Muslim University is all set to raise its academic standards with plans to upgrade research, library facilities and infrastructure. "The academic standard of AMU is showing an upward trend and plans are underway to upgrade research, library facilities and infrastructure of the university," said AMU Vice-Chancellor Professor P K Abdul Azis during a gathering of members of Aligarh Alumni Association (AAA) of Metropolitan Washington.

Successful pediatrics pacemaker implantation was performed on ten year old girl PREETI who is suffering from viral myocardetis induced complete heart block, at JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. This pediatrics was done under the guidance of Dr. Shadab A Khan, Director, Center of Cardiology along with the help of two teams led by Dr. Arif Wahab, Senior Resident, Center of Cardiology, JN Medical College, AMU and Dr. Lavneesh Mohan Agarwal, Senior Resident, Pediatrics. Now, the center of cardiology, JN Medical College has become one of the few centers of the country where pediatrics pacemaker facility has been available at low cost. Pacemaker facility for elders is already available in the center but after starting pediatric pacemaker, it will immediately benefit the residents of nearby areas. The facility of angiography and angioplasty will also be available at cardiology center once it is installed. |

Aug 14-08 : AMU Signed an MOU with an American University... |

Prof. P .K Abdul Azis Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University signed a MoU with the Youngstown State University, Ohio, to advance a meaningful partnership with AMU.
This general agreement of Academic and Cultural cooperation has a purpose to foster mutual understanding, to strengthen cultural ties and to provide opportunities to expand the experiences and horizons of the participating students, faculty and professional staff. Both the universities wish to explore a cooperative relationship, through the development of exchange programs of professors, professional staff and students, joint research programs, joint organization and participation in pedagogical, scientific, technical seminars and meetings and in competency and skills based activities and other activities in the fields of mutual interest. This agreement provisions will not limit in any way the rights of YSU and AMU related to public health and moral codes order and safety. No doubt this agreement has a great goal and must be called one of the biggest achievements of its Vice Chancellor Prof. P K Abdul Azis and Prof. Shakir Husain, Department of civil Engineering (an AMU Alumnus, played a major role in getting this MOU signed). |
